EXPLANATION:
- The shield carries the cross of Christ planted deeply in a fertile ground.
- The cross and the shield symbolize the diocese, deeply planted on a fertile soil of faith, hope and love.
- At the right of the shield is seen a palm tree planted on rich soil symbolizing successful in plantation of the faith.
- On the centre on the top of the shield is the symbol of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the principal agent of evangelization. He makes the palm tree planted on the rich soil to grow and bear fruit.
- At the left of the shield is the symbol of Mary and the cross. Symbolizing the motto of the Bishop, Mary and Jesus. Mary is the fast lane to Jesus. The motto symbolizes the Spirituality of the Bishop to go to Jesus through Mary expressed In the latin word/phrase: AD JESUM PER MARIAM boldly inscribed at the bottom of the shield.
- Finally the cap and the decorative rope symbolize the Episcopacy.
